HD DVD upconverting DVD player or laptop?
So I have a couple of HDTVs and both have VGA input. Now my question is, it's worth spending money on an "upconverting" DVD player that converts standard DVD to HD and play? My computer, connect to your HDTV, displays in a resolution of 720p. So the question is, does the computer do the same job as a player upconverting dvd or should invest in one.
It seems to be your HDTV is 720P. You have not said if your HDTV has HDMI ports. Sometimes I connect my laptop to the VGA port on my HDTV 720P and see how DVD. My senses and automatically portable HDTV change the resolution to 1280×720. An upconverting DVD player, I have also, become a 480i (or 480sd) output signal to 720i or 720p signal output to your HDTV. You can see a difference in image quality. I will invest in any of the HD-DVD or Blu-Ray DVD player later this year. If you decide to invest in a HD-DVD or Blu-Ray DVD player, check to see if they also play standard DVDs (via upconversion circuits). In this way, you can keep the standard DVD.
