How can I convert videos for my Sony Walkman NWZ S616F player mp3?

It is this model here: http://reviews.cnet.com/mp3-players/sony-nwz-s616f-4gb/4505-6490_7-32591623.html?tag=mncol; lst It says it takes MPEG-4 and M4V. But when I convert the files in these formats (I tried several converters !!!), tells me the file format is not accepted. I have no idea how to get videos on this player.
