Any need to buy upscaling DVD player when I have FULL HD (1080P) LCD TV and a normal component out DVD player?
I have FULL HD (1080P) LG LCD TV. Also I have Samsung Home theatre system which has no HDMI (and no upscaling ability), but has component video out.
Now do i need to buy upscale dvd player to feel the HD picture on my LCD TV or this FULL HD TV will convert my SD signals from my present DVD player to HD images. I guess the FULL HD TV have inbuilt tuner to do this function (unlike HD Ready TV which has no tuner for SD to HD conversion). Please clarify.
No need to buy an upscaling DVD player. The TV will upscale any resolution input to its native 1080p resolution, and probably do a better job at the upscaling than an upscaling DVD player would do.
I have an an upscaling DVD player and a 1080p Samsung TV, and BY FAR the TV does a better job of upscaling than the upscaling done by the DVD player, so I leave the upscaling turned off on the DVD player and let the TV do it.
